Meet our Board of Directors

Chris Fabris

Born and raised in Nanaimo, British Columbia.  Graduated High School in 1992.  Took 2 years of Commerce at Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo, BC.  Transferred to Lethbridge, AB in 1995 to take Professional Golf Management at Lethbridge Community College where I graduated in 1998.  Worked in the golf industry from 1996 to 2006 where I was employed at Banff Springs, Heritage Pointe, Fox Hollow/Eaglequest Golf Dome and finally the remaining 7 years at the Strathmore Golf Club.  Obtained CPGA status in 2000 and Class A status in 2005.  In 2006 I left the golf business to enter the oil and gas industry.  For the past 8 years I have been an environmental contractor for Husky Energy.  Due to the energy downturn I am currently seeking other opportunities.

I currently live in Strathmore and have called this town home on and off since 2000.  I have also been a member/employee since 2000 when Brian Bassen gave me an opportunity to work at the club.  I met my wife in 2004 in Strathmore and we were married in 2008.  Her hometown is Tisdale, Saskatchewan.  My wife Heather currently works in the Golden Hills school division.  We have two children, Jackson (7) and Sophia (4).

I look forward to serving on the board and hope to bring all my learnings to the club from not only my golf business exposure but also being a member and around the membership for the last 16 years.

Cal has been a member of the Strathmore Golf Club since 2008 and feels the attraction of the Strathmore Golf Club was the rural atmosphere, the close proximately to Chestermere and the shape the course was in compared to other in the area.

Dallas Sandmaier - Secretary Treasurer

Dallas was born and raised in the Calgary area, including Carseland. She graduated from Ernest Manning High School. As her children reached school age, she quickly realized that Strathmore was the ideal place to raise them. For numerous years, Dallas was employed in the accounting field. In 2010, Dallas chose the self-employment route, investing in her first real estate investment property. She quickly grew her business in southern Alberta to include 15 more properties and is currently exploring expansion into the US market. Dallas is actively involved in the Strathmore Golf Club Ladies Association in efforts to improve ladies events and to increase the female membership at Strathmore Golf Club.

Dallas has been married to her husband, Bryan, since 2009. Together they have four grown children, and one grandchild. Dallas took up the game of golf in 2012 and has quickly developed a passion for the sport.
